2017 Podium Retreat!

2017 Podium Retreat Details:

Hello ladies, it’s that time of year again to announce the details of the 2017 edition of my Podium Retreat!  I am so excited to host you this year in my home city of Boulder, Colorado on October 19th - October 22nd.  Holding the retreat in Boulder will allow me more freedom and therefore allow us to do some special things!

The cost of the retreat this year will be $1000 plus the cost of the hotel.  The hotel cost is $179/night for a single queen and $189/night for a double or 2 queens.   Feel free to share a room with a friend to save on the cost, I know it adds up!

We will be staying at the beautiful and historical Hotel Boulderado.  They are super excited to host us and it’ll be a fun walk down memory lane for me since I spent my wedding night there.   It has an amazing location in the middle of downtown, allowing you to walk and run to many of the best parts of Boulder!  Check out Hotel Boulderado

Here are some of the highlights you can expect this year:

  • A fun track session.  (Don’t freak out, this will be fun!)
  • An off property dinner prepared by Lottie Bildirici sponsored by WholeFoods
  • Lots of talks, and activities centered around our theme (yes we have a theme this year).  Our theme is Strength and Empowerment.  The weekend will be built around these ideas and how you can get both strength and empowerment in all areas of your life!
  • The best goodie bag in the business!
  • There are more surprises coming as well!!

Our Speakers:

  • Dr. Amy Oldenberg
  • Anna Paffel
  • Shanna Burnette
  • Kara Goucher 😉
  • Pilates and stretching with Tracey Katona
  • Self Defense class with Julie Morrill
  • Workout with my own personal strength trainer Erin Carson

I am so excited to give you a taste of Boulder and to leave you all strengthened, empowered, and with an incredible network of friends!  Reminder that this retreat is for ANY woman runner.  We don’t care about your age, your ability, or your fitness level.  What we care is that you are willing to be vulnerable in a safe environment and ready to learn from others!

As for registration dates!  Former retreaters will be allowed to register on June 27th 9AM MT and it will open to new retreaters on June 28th 9AM MT.  The retreat will be open to 60 women and the spots usually go in the first week so be ready!  Once spots are filled we will create a waitlist in case of cancelations.  We will fill cancelled spots by going down the waitlist in order of waitlisted.

Cancellation policy:

I understand that sometimes things can happen and you may have to cancel your trip.  We want to work with anyone in anyway that we can.  Unfortunately because we have to pay for things in advance, we can't always give full refunds.  This year we will have a cancellation policy as follows:

Cancellations by August 18: 100% refund

Cancellation by August 19: 75% refund

Cancellation by September 19: 50% refund

After September 19th there will be no refund.  We always have a waitlist and bills to pay so this year we will adhere to the policy above.

Ok, that’s it for now.  Circle your calendars, get babysitters and get ready for the most amazing weekend!  I can’t wait to share my life with you in October!!

I will post reminders and links to registration on all of my social sites.  Until then, get excited!!

-Kara

Hi Kara! I’m considering registering as a new retreater and just wanted to ask a quick question.. As far as spending money I should plan for, how are daily meals handled? Is that something that is included or are the retreaters on their own for meals such as leaving the property to find restaurants and such? Thanks for any info and look forward to the fall!
    Cassi J:)

    • Cassi,
All meals are included in the cost of the retreat. We will provide 3 meals a day and a couple of cocktail hours as well. You can bring some cash if you want to get off property, but you won’t need to buy anything while you are here. Hope it works out! -Kara

    Hi Kara,
I will be registering as a new retreater and I’m so excited! Which airport is best to fly into? I’ll be coming from Louisiana. With that being said, the weather is quite different in Louisiana verses Colorado… can you offer suggestions regarding clothes to pack?

    Thank You,
    Jessica

    • Hi Jessica, you will fly into Denver and either drive to Boulder or ride the super shuttle or green shuttle to the hotel. In October we could be 90 degrees or have snow, so you’ll need to keep an eye on the weather as it appeoaches!!

Hi Kara! Following up on Cynthia’s question, do we finish early enough on Sunday to allow for travel that day?

I’ve been reading about your retreat since the beginning and think this might be the year I take the plunge!

    • Take the plunge!! We will have brunch and the circle of sisterhood Sunday, but will aim to wrap no later than noon!

Hi Kara: I am so excited to join you on the podium retreat! I was hoping to share a Lyft or Uber ride from Denver airport to Boulder. Will there be a way to contact others or post a notice trying to coordinate this before 10/19?
